Reading the question stem on LSAT logical reasoning questions often takes about three seconds and rarely poses much of a problem. However, at times you may get a question wrong because you missed key information within the question stem. Here are three things within the LSAT logical reasoning question stems to watch out for:
Hanging 'no' at end of question stem
You may encounter a question that has a "no" at the end that you read initially but forget later and, choose an incorrect choice that would be correct if the "no" were not included in the stem.
To remember the 'no', highlight it and place a reminder to yourself next to each of the choices so that you will remember to include the 'no' for each, such as this:

Additional information at the end of a question stem.
Sometimes there will be additional information at the end of a question stem that you must consider. Be on the lookout for conditional statments such as "if" or "only if" that you must consider with each answer choice. See LSAT PrepTest 48, Section 1, Question 12 for an example.
EXCEPT at the end of a question stem.
These questions can easily confuse you because the correct choice provides what is normally an incorrect choice. To remember the EXCEPT, highlight it and place a reminder to yourself next to each of the choices, such as this:
